Welcome to Silicon Valley Biotech Explorers
Our organization is dedicated to bringing together like-minded students with an interest in biotechnology from around the Silicon Valley area. Our mission is to provide students with opportunities to broaden their horizons and increase their involvement in the different fields of biotechnology. Our club is currently focused on exposing high school students to biotech and related fields, as well as connecting them to professionals and researchers in the field, especially through our Stanford connection. We plan to have widespread sharing of ideas and activities, and we hope to introduce to you the many possibilities of the biotech industry and its professions.
Join us and find out what it's like to be a part of the biotech field!

You hear it everywhere: nanotube technology, gene therapy, biodegradable plastic. All successful biotech products. But have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes in a biotech company? When most people think about working in the biotech industry, they envision lab coats and goggles. What they don’t know is that a biotech company is made up of more than just scientists. Whether you enjoy computer programming, marketing, accounting, engineering, or graphic design, the Bay Area is full of biotech firms that offer great opportunities for you. Come to our next Silicon Valley Biotech Explorers meeting, where our guest speaker Carolyn Tsao, Director of Human Resources at Genemed Biotechnologies, Inc., will reveal the inner workings of a biotech company and the various disciplines involved in making a successful biotech product.
